Biography
Taro Sakamoto (Japanese: 坂本 太郎, Hepburn: Sakamoto Tarō)
While attending, he met a variety of individuals like his two best friends, Rion Akao and Yoichi Nagumo, as well as Boiled; a hardboiled student with attitude but dorky sense of style, a senior student named Hyo and his teachers Etsuko Satoda; a retired assassin famous for her martial arts and Yamada; the vice principal who found Sakamoto, and co.'s antics continually frustrating. He was popular amongst the female students as he would frequently get boatloads of Valentine's gifts and chocolates in droves much to the chagrin of Boiled and Nagumo's amusement. Sakamoto, Rion, and Nagumo regularly got into trouble together, causing even more problems during a field trip/paintball game. Sick of all the mayhem that the trio caused, Yamada decides to expel all three of them as they damaged faculties, ignored class rules, used weapons without permission, etc. which made them infamous in the school. Not having enough credits to pass anyway, the vice principal arranged for an extra assignment that would determine whether the trip could pass that year which was advocated for making a special exception from their teacher Satoda. The assignment - kill the target in the envelope. Casually accepting it, the trio left the office not aware of the true intentions of the assignment. While deciding on who gets to do the homework for the mission, Rion bumps into another student who excuses himself and declines her offer of wanting macho-style rock paper scissors. The trio in the midst of getting ready to leave are stopped by the vice principal who places another teammate for the mission named Kei Uzuki, a third-year student from the same department as them. The group arrives at a department store in the city and Nagumo explains that the target is the leader of an illegal weapons manufacturing ring called the "Steel Dragon" with intel stating that he hides there. After dealing with an assassin in an elevator, they learn that the Steel Dragon runs the entire store and that they're already being watched. Splitting up, Sakamoto and Nagumo go to the third floor of the electronics department. They hide behind a register while handling and taking out assassins, they then encounter a man named Kindaka who appears behind them. Sakamoto and Nagumo launch their respective attacks, but the old man surprises the two with his overwhelming speed.
Three days after Uzuki and Rion disappeared, Sakamoto and Nagumo visited Kindaka in the hospital. They meet Satoru Yotsumura who is also visiting Kindaka who has fallen into a coma. Nagumo asks the status of the investigation on Uzuki but Yotsumura's crypticity and suspicions towards Rion angers Sakamoto as he tries to hit him but is quickly stopped by Hyo who tells him to calm down. Surprisingly, Yotsumura offers them both membership into Order and tells them that if they want to find Rion and Uzuki, they should look for themselves. A year into joining Order, Sakamoto is contacted by Nagumo he's found out Uzuki's whereabouts and sends his location. Nagumo tells Sakamoto not to kill Uzuki before finding out where Rion is. Rushing through the city and arriving at a warehouse, Sakamoto finds Uzuki standing over Rion's body. Uzuki greets him and tells Sakamoto that he killed her. Sakamoto questions Uzuki on why he killed Rion, but Uzuki replies that he was enslaved by the JAA, and it felt like he was eternally submerged in dark water. But that he was finally free, and that's all he has to say. Sakamoto attacks Uzuki, but the fight ends in seconds, with Sakamoto ready to finish off Uzuki. Uzuki, in his last request, asks that Sakamoto not shoot him in the face. Sakamoto grants his request and kills him. In the next unknown number of years before the present day, Sakamoto continued to work as an assassin and hitman as a member of Order. He would sometimes work with the other members on several missions. He got to know his fellow members as he formed close working relationships with Yotsumura, who he grew to like despite their initial meeting, as the old assassin also developed a mutual liking for Sakamoto as he shared stories of his family in between assignments and met Shishiba, Yotsumura's student and partner. Sakamoto and Nagumo, at one point, destroyed a smuggling ring together and saved a little girl named Nao Toramaru in the process. On another such mission, Sakamoto alongside Nagumo, Hyo, and Kamihate was in some foreign, war-torn city. As Sakamoto, Nagumo, and Hyo found themselves in a pinch, surrounded by at least 10 enemy snipers aiming to kill them, they watched on as Kamihate, hidden someplace away, shot down all opposition for them in rapid succession, sealing their victory.
