Tauriel is a female film Elf who features in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Biography

Tauriel was a female member of the race of Elves that came to inhabit the world of Middle-earth.

It was said that for 600 years that Thranduil protected and favoured her with a level of trust placed on Tauriel. She eventually came to rise to the position of Captain of the Guard where she regularly fought alongside the king's son Legolas.

Overview

Personality and attributes

It was said that Legolas had grown quite fond of Tauriel though she said that he only thought of her as the Captain of the Guard. Thranduil though saw her as a lowly Silvan elf and told her not to give Legolas any hope for a romantic relationship between them.

The dwarf Kili came to be attracted to Tauriel and often attempted to flirt with her when he along with his band of adventurers were prisoners of the elves of Mirkwood. At first, she was unimpressed with him though did admit that he was taller than others of his kind. She later came to admit her love to Kíli though he came to be killed after sacrificing himself to save her from Bolg. Distraught at his death, she came to state that she did not want to feel love as Kili's death made her feel nothing but pain.

Powers and abilities

Tauriel was a female elf of Silvan descent who was of the lower tiers of her society.

In Mirkwood, she came to rise to the position of Captain of the Guard.

  • Tauriel was created Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh where she was an original creation of the Hobbit films.
