Technovore
The Technovore was an artificial lifeform created by an experiment gone awry on the Stark Enterprises Space Station. The creature was capable of absorbing technological matter into itself, adding the capabilities and information stored in them to itself. The Technovore was battled by Tony Stark using one of the Iron Man drones he operated at the time. Stark determined that it was absorbing more and more technology in an attempt to give it the sense of self it lacked, and that it especially desired to assimilate the drone because it believed the drone possessed that self-sense.
After the creature had absorbed the entire space station into itself, Stark allowed it to begin absorbing the drone, but activated its self-destruct system. However, the Technovore accessed Stark's mind via the remote VR interface he used to control the Iron Man drone, and he was unable to disengage before the drone (and the Technovore) were destroyed. Fortunately, his mind was saved by the being known as the Goddess, who tried to convince him that the Technovore proved all technology is evil, and that he should embrace her crusade for universal purity. Stark rejected that interpretation, and the Goddess, enraged, banished him back to his crippled mortal body.

- In Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, the Technovore appeared as the final antagonist where initially it was simply the name given to the bio-technological armor suit used by Ezekiel Stane. The biotech infected living beings and technology whilst allowing a level of regeneration as well as molding flesh to suit its purposes. After the first confrontation with Stane, Stark managed to adapt his armor to help stave off the infection and defeated Ezekiel. Stane was taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. but the Technovores infected the Helicarrier where he regenerated any wounds. In a fight with Iron Man, Ezekiel seemingly managed to survive but the Technovores mutated out of his control where it consumed Stane and turning his body into a monstrous rampaging beast. The Technovore battled both Iron Man and Warmachine until stopped where it used its body as a chrysalis to create a new Technovore that infected a building were it spread its tendrils throughout the city. Once there, it began the process of taking control of technology through the H.O.W.A.R.D. (Hi-Definition Observation Worldwide Advanced Remote Device) satellite in order to eliminate all of mankind until Stark made a plan leading to the detonation of the ARC reactor in Iron Man's chest thus eliminating the Technovore.
