Thade is a villainous character that features in Planet of the Apes.

Biography

Thade was an intelligent ape whose species evolved from test monkeys that were experimented on by the crew of the space station Oberon. These humans were seeking one of their pilots by known as Captain Leo Davidson who became lost in an electrical storm. Their entry into the cloud led to the station crashing on an unknown planet where there were only a few human survivors. In this time, the apes onboard their station were genetically engineered to be more intelligent and human-like in appearance. One of these apes was known as Semos who violently turned against his former human captors and killed them leading to an ape rebellion. In time, the apes would become the dominant species on the planet and turn mankind into a primitive slave race. Humanity's once advanced technical knowledge was lost as they reverted to primitivism whilst the apes developed their civilization. Semos was a revered figure whose family line became dominant where they kept the secret of mankind's technological a close guarded fact and warned that humanity held the potential of becoming a dangerous force in the future. Thade was born from this family line and was a direct descendant of Semos himself. He would be the son of a famous ape who was well known among the leadership of their people. Thade would constantly petition he Ape Senate for wiping out all human resistance to their rule but was never give permission for this move. He would also pursue Ari romantically even though she despised his cruel nature.

Personality and attributes

He scoffed at the concept of humanity having souls as he believed them to be soulless creatures unlike apes. Thade would seek to ensure that the knowledge of mankind having advanced technology to be kept hidden from his people. This included killing fellow Apes that had uncovered such information as he did to a pair of Gorilla guards that uncovered a human ship.
