Biography

She was considered a creature that travelled the stars and devoured planets. Around two years prior to the start of the series, Thanatos enters the Sol system where it destroyed the planetoid Pluto and took its orbit. During its approach, it unleashed several dragons that took the form of meteorites that headed towards Earth. One among these was responsible for the destruction of the shuttle ISDA-1. Afterwards, the International Solarsystem Development Agency claimed that Thanatos had settled in its new location and that there was no danger of it colliding with the Earth. However, in truth, this was a lie as the ISDA had discovered that the meteors that had crashed onto Earth were extraterrestrial beings that had come from Thanatos. These beings were called dragons with experimentation being done to create what became known as the D-Project which sought to weaponize these lifeforms to serve as a line of defense against Thanatos. Among the key areas of interest for the Lindwurm Unit was the capture of the Album who was considered a living original dragon that could furnish humanity with precious knowledge about Thanatos.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Some amongst dragonkind believed that humanity was capable of changing them though Thanatos itself did not believe that should be the case. Others believed that Thanatos herself was angry with mankind for soiling her precious children and twisting them for their own selfish desires which was why she disposed of the failures. Her nature meant that some believed that Thanatos did not display any human-like behaviors. In fact, it was believed that it was a mistake to attribute Human values to Thanatos as she was a being that had surpassed mankind's comprehension with its feelings as well as its thoughts being vastly different when compared to a Human.

Powers and abilities

The original dragons that emerged from Thanatos itself actually served as living probes with the purpose of bringing back its Earth-bound companions. Once this task was completed, the Thanatos dragon would die with this being considered an inescapable fate of their kind.
