Biography

The Thirst in Aquaman v6 #6.

The Thirst was a primordial being who had ties to the Secret Sea that was part of the wider Multiverse. (Aquaman v6 #5)

Merlin had fought the Thirst to a standstill and even succeeded in imprisoning him. Despite this, the damage had been done to Camelot and was one of the contributing factors to its downfall. The fall of Camelot ended a golden age and brought about a time of barbarism. (Aquaman v6 #5)

By the modern day, the ancient wooden ship containing the Thirst was discovered by an archaeological expedition after flooding by the river uncovered it. It was taken to the castle in Prague to be unveiled to the Ministry of Antiquities who were examining it and during the celebration of their find the Thirst had awakened. (Aquaman v6 #5) After killing the humans, he enslaved their corpses to serve as the crew of his ship which went forth to prey on the river goddesses. Their first destination was the Elbe where the river goddess sent forth water sprites to fight off the attacker. However, the defenders were unable to fight off the Thirst's forces with the primordial being succeeding in consuming the sister of the Lady of the Lake. He then travelled deeper into the Secret Sea where he confronted the Lady's champion the Waterbearer Aquaman. (Aquaman v6 #6)

Personality and attributes

In appearance, the Thirst was a humanoid that at first looked like a desiccated corpse until he drank water. (Aquaman v6 #5)

He was considered the shadowy aspect of the Waterbearer. (Aquaman v6 #5)

Powers and abilities

The Thirst was a supernatural being said to possess no soul of his own but merely a vessel and thing created crafted of river. He was able to draw water from others leaving them as withered corpses in order to feed himself. (Aquaman v6 #5) When killing a human, he came to steal their share of the secret waters and was capable of draining the life of the river goddesses that would cause life to wither and die as a result. As a creature of the Secret Sea, it was said that sorcery did not affect him. (Aquaman v6 #6)

He was said to feed on the Secret Sea itself and would not be satisfied until it was turned into an arid desert. (Aquaman v6 #5)

Those killed by his power fell under his power allowing him to manipulate their corpses to serve him. (Aquaman v6 #5)
