Timothy O'Herlihy

Timothy O'Herlihy was the sanitation commissioner for Chicago. He was a boorish and abusive man who mistreated his girlfriend Patricia Bauer and had mild delusions of grandeur; despite being sanitation commissioner and answering to Mayor Slattery, Timothy fancied that Chicago was "his" city. The day the clone appeared, Timothy was ostensibly out of town on business but in reality he was wiling away the day at Patricia's lake front house.

They turned off the radio and so heard no reports about the disappearances or sightings of the creature, and in fact remained entirely unaware of the crisis for most of the day. He wasn't around when Slattery needed him, and Timothy's browbeaten assistant was forced to act in his boss' stead. Timothy finally turned the radio on out of boredom later. Enraged over the whole matter and that "his" city was being threatened, he left in his car and drove into town. By this time the clone had grown so large it was beginning to fully engulf the city, and Timothy became trapped. In attempting to exit his car, he stepped into the clone which had flowed underneath the vehicle, and was absorbed.
