Tryks
The Tryks are a vampiric subspecies that feature in the Blade comics.
Background
The Tryks are a different species of vampires, ones that face an antagonistic existence against the main species. They are far stronger then normal vampires and possess even more potent regeneration capabilities. They also are capable of surviving exposure to sunlight.
Tryks possess a three stage symbiotic life cycle; it starts off with gas leaving an infected vampire and searching for an adult Human. After entering the body, the second stage beings which results in the formation of a gutsucker that injects the body with numerous tendrils that suck vital nutrients from various organs. The body begins to decompose within 24 hours and results in the third, final stage of the transformation which is the formation of the new Tryk.
Male Tryks have retractable claws within their palms which are used as weapons. A spike at the base of their chin is also capable of spitting out a deadly at will.
Within their society, female Tryks take the role of Queens while the males serve as warriors and soldiers. These Queens are often on the lookout for suitable mates though the process is fatal for the male who gets killed in the process in order to feed the developing fetus.
