  • Ubu was created by Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams where he made his first appearance in Batman v1 #232. (June, 1971).

Alternate Versions

  • In Batman Beyond v6 #9 (2017), it was revealed that Ubu had existed in the alternate future of The Future's End in the Batman Beyond setting. It was shown that Ubu had a son by the name of Koru who served as the Demon's Right Hand and began to serve the new Ra's al Ghul who was Damian Wayne.

  • In the DC Animated Universe, Ubu made a number of appearances in the shared continuity setting.
    • In Batman: The Animated Series, Ubu first appeared as an antagonist in the episode "The Demon's Quest" where he was voiced by actor Manu Tupou.
    • In Superman: The Animated Series, Ubu returned as an antagonist in the episode "The Demon Reborn" where he was voiced by actor Michael Horse.
  • In Young Justice, Ubu appeared as a minor character in the animated series where he was voiced by actor Fred Tatasciore. He was shown as a member of the League of Assassins and loyal follower of Ra's al Ghul. During the summit with the Reach, Black Beetle mortally wounded Ra's al Ghul with Ubu removing himself from the battle with the Team in order to recover his master. He took Ra's out of the cavern where the battle was waged with him saying that he would keep him safe and vowed that the master would rise again.

Films

  • In Son of Batman, Ubu appeared as an antagonist in the 2014 animated film where he was voiced by actor Bruce Thomas. He was shown as a member of the League of Assassins who joined alongside Slade Wilson when he decided to usurp leadership of the organisation from Ra's al Ghul. As such, he was one of the accomplishes that helped murder Ra's al Ghul causing Damian Wayne to seek out revenge. After meeting his father, Damian used the Batcomputer to find the location of Ubu who was entertaining himself with women in Gotham City. He arrived at his residence and attempted to kill him but was stopped by Nightwing.
