Underdark

The Underdark is the name for the vast series of underground caverns and catacombs that lie beneath the surface of most of the various Prime Material Plane worlds. They are inhabited by many different races, and have such unusual sights as gigantic subterranean cities, and underground lakes and even oceans. Most famous of these is the Underdark of Toril, where the Drow are dominant and their city of Menzoberranzan lies.
