Biography
V
During this time, Norsefire came into power in Great Britain who took over the nation and established a tyrannical dictatorship and rule over the country. In this time, the man who became V was an inmate at Larkhill Resettlement Camp that were one of many concentration camps where black people, Jews, leftists, beatniks, homosexuals and Muslims were held to be exterminated. The camp was headed by commandant Lewis Prothero whilst Father Anthony Lilliman who was a paedophile vicar claimed to had provided 'spiritual support' to the prisoners. V was part of a group of prisoners who are subjected to horrific medical experimentation that were being conducted by Dr. Delia Surridge. All the prisoners involved in these experiments died except for one exception with this being the man in Room Five (V). The experiments had resulted in the man gaining Olympic-level physical abilities and an incredibly expanded intellect. In this time, he came to achieve some level of communication with a fellow prisoner in room 4 with this being Valerie Page who was a former actress imprisoned for being a lesbian.
Over time, the man is allowed to grow roses (violet carsons) and raise crops for camp officials. The man eventually starts taking surplus ammonia-based fertilizer back to his cell, arranges it in bizarre, intricate patterns on the floor. He then takes a large amount of grease solvent from the gardens. In secret, the man uses the fertilizer and solvent to make mustard gas and napalm. On a stormy night (Nov. 5th), he detonates his homemade bomb and escapes his cell. Much of the camp is set ablaze, and many of the guards who rush in to see what happened are killed by the mustard gas. The camp is evacuated and closed down. He adopts the new identity, "V", and dons a Guy Fawkes mask and costume. V then spends the next five years planning his revenge on the Norsefire government, building his secret base, which he calls the "Shadow Gallery". He then kills off most of the over 40 surviving personnel from Larkhill, making each killing look like an accident. However, he saves Prothero, Lilliman and Surridge for last, showing only the remorseful Surridge a bit of mercy by using a painless poison.
Overview
Personality and attributes
Powers and abilities
Originally, he had been an ordinary human being until he was forcibly made to take part in cruel experiments at the Larkhill Resettlement Camp. He came to be the only survivor of Dr. Delia Surridge's brutal experiments where he gained Olympic-level physical abilities and an incredibly expanded intellect.
The experiments also increased V's intellect to remarkable levels. He is extremely skilled in a variety of fields and is able to pull of a very long-term and intricately designed plan to take down the Norsefire Government with little assistance and limited resources. He is also extremely well-read, having hundreds of books in his hide out and can recite extended lines from them perfectly.
V was able to impersonate others and disguise his voice, allowing him to meet with Inspector Finch and impersonate a Norsefire official in his plan to make Evey believe she has been captured.
