Vern Worden

Vern Worden was the foreman of a subway cleanup crew that responded to a stopped train on the tracks. They discovered a large mass moving through the train and witnessed it engulf a passenger. Worden instructed one of his men, Charlie, to burn the creature with a blowtorch, but this didn't kill it. The crew retreated and avoided being absorbed, and Worden contacted his supervisor.
