History
The Votanis Collective
During the evacuation, it was said that the Collective dispatched Indogene shapetakers onto the Omecs ships and sabotaged them from within in an effort to eliminate their race. Afterwards, it was claimed that the Omec craft suffered from design flaws and that they were all extinct during the exodus.
In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly granted 1,560 areas of land in Brazil to the Votan people for use as a permanent settlement. This saw the established of the Sulos colony that was the new home of the Votanis Collective on Earth. (Defiance News)

The Collective consisted of seven member races all of whom once inhabited the Votanis System which included:

Shrills were sometimes used as a weapon to sabotage the enemy by secretly having them placed in their foes armory where they hatched and destroyed any weapons present. (Episode: The Broken Bough)
Votan sleeper pods were not designed for humans and had to adapt to cope with other species. (Episode: History Rhymes)
