Wasabi-No-Ginger uses various swords to fight. He can also give form to his Qi-Energy, usually materializing it as throwing knives that can paralyze opponents.
Wasabi-No-Ginger is a trained chef and samurai who joined the new Big Hero 6.

- Wasabi-No-Ginger was created by Chris Claremont and David Nakayama where he made his first appearance in Big Hero 6 v1 #1 (September, 2008).

Television
- In Big Hero 6: The Series, Wasabi appeared in the animated television series continuation from the film where he was voiced by actor Khary Payton. In the first episode, "Baymax Returns", Wasabi's sudden change from pessimistic to courageous during battle was explained by the fact that he gets a high off of adrenaline. Despite his cowardly personality, he was shown to admire other blade related weaponry including ninja-chef Moamakase's despite her trying to use them against him. In "Fred's Bro-Tillion", Wasabi revealed that his father was an Orthodontist. In "Steamer's Revenge", it was revealed he is allergic to dogs.
Films
- In Big Hero 6, the character was renamed as Wasabi in the setting of the 2014 animated film where he was voiced by actor Damon Wayans Jr. This version was African-American and a neurotic student at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. He designed gauntlets with retractable plasma blades that can slice through any material. Wasabi was first introduced at San Fransokyo Tech, where he is working on laser induced plasma, with a little magnetic confinement for ultra precision. During the testing process, Wasabi meets Hiro, the younger brother of his friend, Tadashi. Wasabi takes the time to demonstrate his creation, as well as introducing Hiro to his method of organization, only to be thrown off by Go Go, so he goes after her. Hiro also learns that Wasabi received his nickname from Fred after spilling the food onto his shirt on one occasion. Later on, Wasabi and the others assist him in a project to earn enrollment by Professor Callaghan. Wasabi attends the showcase, claiming to have several different necessities in case of an emergency due to nervousness. Afterward, a fire breaks out, which kills Tadashi and Professor Callaghan. Wasabi and the others mourn the death of their friend and reach out to Hiro in hopes of having him join their side in school, only to face rejection. Later that night, Wasabi and the others were out on the city streets when they spot Hiro and Tadashi's robot, Baymax, snooping about the city. Wasabi follows behind in his van, and the gang soon finds themselves near the bay.
- On the character, co-director Chris Williams said "He's actually the most conservative, cautious—he [sic] the most normal among a group of brazen characters. So he really grounds the movie in the second act and becomes, in a way, the voice of the audience and points out that what they're doing is crazy."
Video games
- In Kingdom Hearts III, the film version of Wasabi appeared in the setting of the video game where he was voiced again by English actor Khary Payton and by Japanese actor Koji Takeda.
