Zan can transform into water at any state ranging from solid, liquid, and gas to add to his mass by incorporating water in his immediate area. In the case of becoming solid ice, he can also become any form he chooses, from a 5,000-foot (1,500 m) humanoid ice giant to a cage for a criminal to complex machinery such as a jet engine. In one case, hee changed into a gelatinous form. He was able to transform into liquid nitrogen. In addition, he can transform himself into atmospheric disturbances involving water, such as a blizzard, a monsoon, waterspout or a typhoon, as he did in the episodes "The Water Beast", "The Beasts are Coming", and "Stowaways".

Television
- In Justice League Unlimited, a homage to the Wonder Twins appeared in the setting of the animated television series set in the DC Animated Universe both of whom were voiced by actress Grey DeLisle. They were genetically-engineered superheroes created by Project Cadmus named Shifter and Downpour who were created to serve as members of their Ultimen and operate independently of the Justice League, though the former group were led to believe that they were regular metahumans. In the episode "Ultimatum", the Ultimen discovered the truth behind their creation and that they are suffering from cellular breakdown. They attacked their manager Maxwell Lord in an attempt to find Cadmus member Amanda Waller, but were defeated by the League and taken back into Cadmus' custody. In the episode "Panic in the Sky", Cadmus utilized an army of Ultimen clones in their siege on the League's Watchtower.
- In Smallville, the Wonder Twins appeared in the setting of the live-action television series in the episode "Idol" where they were portrayed by actor David Gallagher and actress Allison Scagliotti respectively. This version of the pair were implied to be from another world and pass themselves off as humans of Swedish descent.
