The Wrecker along with Thunderball came to be enhanced by an mysterious benefactor that had upgraded their weapons to be much more deadly. This included Dirk's wrecking bar being able to wreck reality itself where his actions brought him into conflict with Doctor Strange. Garthwaite nearly killed Doctor Strange who barely managed to escape and their second confrontation saw Thunderball enter into the fray. Despite their combined attack, the Wrecker was defeated by Strange who questioned the two about their employer. (Dr. Strange v1 #2)

The wrecking bar came to be enhanced where it was able to wreck reality itself with its strikes. A result of blows on an enemy could see every version of his target from across the Multiverse being hurt by one of his blows. (Dr. Strange v1 #2)

  • Wrecker was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby where he made his first appearance in Thor v1 #148 (January, 1968).

  • In The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Wrecker made multiple appearances in the animated television series starting from the episode "Thor the Mighty" where he was voiced by actor JB Blanc.
