(Wonder Woman v5 #32) When the boy learnt of his heritage then Glaucus called upon Hercules help to train the child in combat with Jason becoming an apt pupil. (Wonder Woman v5 #35) At some point, Hercules began to operate as a mortal where he assumed the identity of a man named '''Paul Jackson''' who lived a solitary existence near a town. He was then attacked by [[Grail (DC)|Grail]] forcing him to transform into his true form but he was ultimately killed with his power claimed to be used to restore [[Darkseid]] to his true form. After his death, he had left behind his fortune which he entrusted to his half-sister Wonder Woman with his attorney meeting with her. Peter where he made his first appearance in All-Star Comics v1 #8 (December, 1941). *The character was based on Hercules from Greek Myth. ==Alternate Versions== *In Action Comics v1 #320 (1965), an alternate version of Hercules appeared in the setting of the story. It was revealed that he came from a parallel world alongside Samson and Atlas where the three of them were actually evil beings on their Earth. They were accidentally drawn to the mainstream Earth by Superman who was using a machine to bring heroes from the Legion of Super-Heroes to help protect the world. However, instead, it went into the past and unknown to Superman it actually brought evil counterparts of the three legendary heroes. At first, they assisted Superman in protecting the planet but then turned on him in a bid to take over the word.
