Alternate Versions

  • In Action Comics v1 #320 (1965), an alternate version of Hercules appeared in the setting of the story. It was revealed that he came from a parallel world alongside Samson and Atlas where the three of them were actually evil beings on their Earth. They were accidentally drawn to the mainstream Earth by Superman who was using a machine to bring heroes from the Legion of Super-Heroes to help protect the world. However, instead, it went into the past and unknown to Superman it actually brought evil counterparts of the three legendary heroes. At first, they assisted Superman in protecting the planet but then turned on him in a bid to take over the word. Superman then used the guise of Omni-Menace to force the three villains to surrender where they returned to their time period whereupon officials from the 30th century informed the Man of Steel that Hercules and his compatriots were from an evil parallel Earth.
