The youngest daughter of [[Tendo, Soun| Soun Tendo]], Akane can be called a tomboy. She practices heavily in the martial arts, and is good enough to break a brick in half and fend off over a hundred suitors at once. She wants nothing to do with boys, and was upset when she was forced into an engagement with [[Saotome, Ranma| Ranma Saotome]]. Her engagement is a pre-arranged affair meant to secure the future of the [[Tendo Dojo]] and the [[Anything Goes School of Martial Arts]]. Both she and Ranma protest that they don't like each other. He calls her an "uncute tomboy" and she calls him a pervert, but there is a great deal of evidence that they do love each other. Akane has two sisters, [[Tendo, Nabiki| Nabiki]] and [[Tendo, Kasumi| Kasumi]]. Akane is the center of attention for many male suitors, including but not limited to [[Kuno, Tatewaki| Tatewaki Kuno]], [[Hibiki, Ryoga| Ryoga Hibiki]], and Ranma Saotome. For many years she had a crush on [[Ono, Tofu| Doctor Tofu Ono]]. Originally had long hair, it was accidentally cut in a battle between Ranma and Ryoga. She has a pet pig named [[P-Chan]].
