Dr. Benson Hughes was a primatologist employed by the Atlantic Institute. He was an associate of Amy Franklin. He was the one who gave Dr. Ingersoll the go-ahead to bring in Lady Kong for the transfusion for Kong's operation, and later, when Colonel Nevitt took control of Lady Kong, it was Hughes who got an order from the Secretary of Defense letting him and Amy see her.
