Biography
King Kong was an enormous gorilla that lived on Skull Island and dominated the prehistoric ecosystem there. His cavern lair was high atop Skull Mountain, and Kong's day-to-day life was a battle for survival against a variety of dinosaurs and other monstrous creatures. He was worshipped as a god by the Skull Island natives, who kept him (and the island's other creatures) out of their village with a giant stone wall built centuries ago. They regularly sacrificed women to Kong, staking them out between two pillars on the opposite side of the wall's gate for him to come and claim. Although it is unknown what became of Kong's other "brides," the giant ape took a particular liking to Ann Darrow when she was captured by the natives and given to him as a gift. Kong took her back to his Skull Mountain lair, defending her from hungry dinosaurs, including an allosaurus, and fighting off members of the rescue party led by Jack Driscoll and Carl Denham, tipping all but Jack and Denham off a log bridge to their deaths in a chasm.
While Kong was distracted fighting with a pteranodon, Jack was able to grab Ann and escape with her back to the wall. Enraged, Kong followed and began to rampage through the native village, biting and stomping on the hapless inhabitants, before Denham brought him down with a gas bomb. Chained and floated to the SS Venture on a hastily-constructed raft, Kong was taken back to New York City and billed by Denham as "the Eighth Wonder of the World." Kong was chained onstage in a theater and displayed to the public, but he soon escaped when he became enraged and disoriented by the flashbulbs of some pushy photographers - despite Denham's claims that he had tamed the beast-god. Kong ran amok through New York, smashing and biting citizens and destroying an elevated train before recapturing Ann Darrow and climbing to the top of the Empire State Building (but not before mistaking another woman for Ann and rather violently discarding her after realizing his mistake). With nowhere else to go once he'd reached the skyscraper's summit, Kong effectively trapped himself and was attacked by several military biplanes.
Although Kong managed to destroy at least one of the attacking biplanes, the remaining aircraft were able to bring the beast-god down because he was too distracted by Ann Darrow's beauty. Shot up by machine gun fire, Kong toppled off the Empire State Building and landed on the street below. Although dead, Kong did leave a son, Kiko, back on Skull Island, who was befriended by Denham and Hilda Peterson.

In appearance, King Kong was a colossal, bipedal mammalian creature that possessed the structural biological physical traits of a prehistoric, giant gorilla integrated with semi-humanoid proportions. King Kong possessed a dense, dark black coat of coarse fur that covered the vast majority of his muscular body, with the explicit exception of his face, chest, hands, and feet, which featured bare, dark leathery skin. The facial anatomy featured a broad snout, deep-set eyes beneath a heavily prominent and ridged brow, small ears, and an exceptionally wide jaw containing large, sharp teeth. King Kong possessed immensely thick, elongated upper limbs that terminated in massive hands with dexterous fingers, and short, heavily built lower limbs terminating in wide, powerful feet. King Kong's physical scale fluctuated contextually throughout his environments, appearing roughly eighteen feet tall while moving through the jungles of Skull Island and expanding up to twenty-four to fifty feet tall while navigating the skyscrapers of New York City. King Kong did not wear any garments, uniform, or armor, remaining entirely in a natural biological state, though King Kong's wrists and ankles briefly featured heavy metallic shackle collars and broken steel chains following his escape from the Broadway stage. Upon his discovery, he was referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

King Kong possessed the muscular power to single-handedly snap heavy steel industrial chains, rip apart reinforced wooden fortress beams, and successfully wrestle, overpower, and kill giant apex dinosaurs through blunt force and jaw-snapping maneuvers. King Kong's unique skeletal structure and prehensile digits granted King Kong exceptional climbing dexterity, allowing King Kong to effortlessly scale vertical rock faces, steep mountain cliffs, and modern steel skyscrapers while carrying a human being in one hand. Additionally, King Kong possessed a semi-human tier of cognitive intelligence, problem-solving skills, and a capacity for localized emotional attachment, enabling King Kong to evaluate tactical threats, use environmental objects as primitive weapons, and actively shield specific individuals from external harm.
Kong resided on a mysterious remote island called Skull Island.

Enraged, Kong attacks the helicopters, swatting them out of the air and killing many of Packard's men, to which Packard swears vengeance against Kong. Following the conflict, Kong reappears at a lake, heavily wounded from the earlier fight. As he washes his wounds and drinks from the lake, a Mire Squid attacks Kong, but he manages to kill the creature by stomping on its head and proceeds to make a meal of the giant cephalopod. Later, Kong is seen jumping from one mountain to another as he looks over the island. Kong finds a dead Sker Buffalo being eaten by a Skullcrawler near a large underground vent. As he is about to engage the creature, another one ambushes Kong from behind. He kills them by throwing one to the ground, breaking its neck, and stomping the other's head. Some time later, Weaver tries and fails to save a Sker Buffalo trapped under a downed helicopter outside the Iwi village. Kong appears and rescues the buffalo. He encounters Weaver for the first time and looks at her curiously before leaving her be. Later that night, he is seen sitting atop a mountain, somberly watching the aurora. The following night, Kong sees both Weaver and Conrad on the top of a tall ledge through a blanket of fog and approaches them. While frightened at first, Weaver sees no signs of aggression. She touches his face, and he visibly weeps before retreating. Immediately afterwards, Kong is drawn to a distant explosion, which happens to be a napalm trap set by Packard. Kong is lured in and set on fire by Packard.
