Moloch was a demon also known as the Corruptor. He once dominated a dark cult in medieval Italy, but was trapped within a book by monks led by Brother Thelonius. Moloch was later freed (accidentally) by Willow Rosenberg, when she scanned the book into the Sunnydale High School library computer. Moloch, freed onto the Internet, gathered new disciples and romanced Willow in the virtual identity of Malcolm Black. Eventually, he had new servants construct a robotic body for him, but he was bound into it by Jenny Calendar so that Buffy Summers could finally destroy him.
