Irvin in his tank.

Irvin was a disembodied brain in a tank of green fluid, considered the "uncle" of the clones. He could speak via a pair of large megaphones on either side of the tank and see with a camera mounted on it. He had been created by the Inventor to be an intellectual companion, but like all of the scientist's creations suffered from a defect. He constantly had migraines.

After Krank disposed of their creator, Irvin played a vital role in Krank's experiments with his dream machine, lulling both Krank and the children to sleep with the sound of his voice. Secretly however he despised Krank and what he did, and so set in motion a series of invents that would lead One, Miette and the surviving, amnesiac Inventor to Krank's oilrig, by sending a nightmare-in-a-bottle into the sea. Along with the clones, he escaped in a rowboat before the oilrig was destroyed.
