Goro was known for being hot-tempered though, and would often pick fights with his co-worker Yoshi. When the two went missing in the mines and Yoshi later turned up dead, Chief of Police Nishimura (as well as most of the miners) blamed Goro for the crime. In reality the culprit was a prehistoric Meganulon. Even once the monster revealed itself and was dealt with, thereby proving Goro's innocence, Goro himself was subsequently found in the mine, another of the creature's victims.
