Charlie was the Chinese cook aboard the S.S. Venture. When Ann Darrow was abducted by the natives of Skull Island to be given to King Kong, Charlie was the one who found the bracelet left behind in the struggle and alerted the rest of the crew. Later, he accompanied Carl Denham and Captain Englehorn on their second voyage to Skull Island, in search of its treasure. The treasure was found, and Charlie got a share of it along with everyone else.
