The Black is one of the inner planes in Athas' cosmology. It is approximately equivalent to the shadow plane, as it powers spells with a shadow descriptor and is home to all manner of shadow creatures.
At the core of the Black is a demiplane known as The Hollow which, for the last 2,000 years has served as a prison for Rajaat.
