Cruster was a purple Class V ghost haunting the New York Public library, along with a similar-looking ghost named Crusto. The two were often seen together and utilized a telekinesis attack against their victims. They resided in the lion statues out in front of the library until breaking free in 1991, necessitating the involvement of the Ghostbusters. The Ghostbusters - Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, Winston Zeddemore and a rookie - pursued the pair through the library before Ray and the rookie were able to battle and trap both Cruster and Crusto in the book depository.
