Batman was born when Bruce Wayne's parents were killed by a criminal. Young Bruce vowed to fight a war against crime, and trained himself in body and mind through adulthood.

Batman seems to have equipment for any situation (even Shark Repellent Bat-Spray), and his allies and his enemies (and Batman himself) seem to deal in the absurd more than in any other version. Batman's foes also included King Tut, Egghead, the Bookworm and the Clock King.
