Two grave robbers accidentally release the Pastmaster from his 800-year imprisonment within the Casket of the Ages. Disgusted with the modern era, he steals his spellbook, the Tome of Time, from the Megakat City Museum of History and attempts to magically transform the metropolis back to the medieval state he prefers. He summons dinosaurs through a magical time vortex to act as his bodyguards, one of whom knocks the Swat Kats through the portal and into the prehistoric era.
