Set was the Egyptian god of deserts, war, and foreign things, depicted as a man with an unidentified animal's head. Generally regarded as one of the more dangerous gods, Set was paradoxically the protector of Ra and the Manjet against Apep. Set is best known for the murder of his brother, Osiris, wherein he sliced him into pieces and scattered him across Egypt.

Set has many other names, including Seth and Sutekh.
