Culex (Marvel)

Culex was a monstrous insectoid demon which dwelled in another dimension. He was worshipped by a cult led by Sabaist, until the cult was destroyed by Terror. Terror took Sabaist's hand (the rest of him being snagged by Culex following a botched summoning), and used it to briefly open a portal to Culex's realm in Cypress Hills Cemetery, hoping to lure the Ghost Rider there. Unfortunately, as Ghost Rider arrived and Terror closed the portal, a small fragment of Culex remained behind, growing to create a body for Culex on Earth. The demon battled Terror and Ghost Rider, until Terror reopened the portal and sent Culex back.
