The Cracks of Doom were the fiery forge deep in the heart of Mount Doom in the land of Mordor. It was here that the Dark Lord Sauron forged the One Ring, and only in the Cracks of Doom could the Ring be unmade.
In the Elven language Sindarin, the Cracks of Doom were known as "Sammath Naur."
