The X-Club are a superhero team that features in Marvel Comics.

History

The X-Club were a team of scientists that were affiliated with the X-Men. Their origins were traced to after the events of M-Day where Hank McCoy and Warren Worthington III looked to find a means of undoing it. Thus, they sought to gather a team of specialists that worked to fix the attempted genocide of the Mutant race. One of the first members of the team to be recruited was Doctor Nemesis. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #504) The next person the two recruited was Madison Jeffries who was brought onto the team for his mechanical talents. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #505) They then travelled to an isolated island in order to enlist the aid of Dr. Yuriko Takiguchi for his talents in atomic mutation theory. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #506)

Overview

They were named after the dinner club that was established by Charles Darwin that consisted of people that shared the belief in his theories. Beast claimed that they had inherited his tradition as the X-Club shared a devotion to science, pure and free that was untrammelled by religious dogmas. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #507)

  • The X-Club was created by Matt Fraction and Terry Dodson where they made their first appearance in Uncanny X-Men v1 #507 (May, 2009).
