Greg Muller
Greg Muller was a former Umbrella Corporation researcher who quit the company after he began to suspect that too much expansion was weakening the organization and that the true meaning of the T-Virus research was becoming overshadowed by corporate greed. He took a job at Raccoon University, working with Peter Jenkins to create Daylight. He also conducted his own private research, creating his ultimate masterpiece, Thanatos-R.
Whether Greg released Thanatos from his stasis tank or whether Thanatos merely escaped is not known. Either way, Thanatos was set free sometime on September 30th and Greg monitored his progress from his laboratory on the third floor as he ran amok throughout the campus, killing the UBCS. members sent to steal Daylight. He was particularly impressed by a number of civilian survivors (including Peter's friend George Hamilton) who held their own against Thanatos, succeeding where the UBCS had failed.
Inviting them into his lab, Greg expressed genuine regret at the terrible tragedy that had befallen Raccoon City, then revealed a much more sinister side as he told them he planned to pit Thanatos against them a second time in order to further test his creation's abilities. Greg however did not live to see the fight, as he was shot in the back of the head by Nicholai Ginovaef, whose mission was to assassinate the scientist for betraying Umbrella.
