Biography
Nolan Grayson was a male member of the Viltrumite race where he was the son of Argall and was born on his homeworld of Viltrum.
He arrived on Earth in the 1980's where he met Cecil Stedman and wanted to learn more about human culture. This saw him adopting a human guise of Nolan Grayson that was to be his secret identity whilst he appeared more human. During this time, he came to save the life of a woman named Debbie with the two entering into a relationship and getting married. In addition, Cecil came to set up Nolan to be a superpowered protector of Earth where he became Omni-Man who was the newest and most powerful hero on the planet. Afterwards, he came to marry Debbie where she became pregnant with his son who the couple named Mark Grayson. In the following years, he came to battle various supervillains and encountered the Guardians of the Globe who were the Earth's premiere team of superheroes. He had been invited to join their ranks but refused though despite that he would work with them on several occasions. Nolan later met Art Rosebaum who was the maker of superhero costumes with him being responsible for making the Omni-Man costume. Whilst on Earth, he came to tell all his human friends a fake story about his arrival on Earth and hid his true mission from them. (Invincible v1 #11)
As Omni-Man, Nolan continued battling supervillains as he defended the Earth whilst he raised his son Mark. By this point, he maintained a fake version of his origin that he told his family. (Invincible v1 #2) In high school, Mark came to finally manifest his powers leading to Nolan introducing him to Art Rosebaum who helped make a costume for him as he became the superhero Invincible. (Invincible v1 #1)
First, both Mark and Nolan came to stop an extra-dimensional invasion from the Flaxans. In this time, Nolan came to be abducted by the invaders and taken prisoner. Whilst there, they neutralized his powers but he regained them and lead a revolt, causing damage to the dimension. (Invincible v1 #93) Eight months in the Flaxan dimension, He escaped by to his world and told Mark and Debbie about it. (Invincible v1 #3) He also had Mark substitute for him in battling an alien invader, Allen the Alien. (Invincible v1 #5) While Mark and William were away at Upstate University, Nolan and Debbie had many intimate moments until Mark arrived, who was disgusted by their actions. (Invincible v1 #6) While Mark was sleeping, due to his many superheroes jobs, Nolan sprang his true plans to prepare Earth for a Viltrumite takeover. He delayed a false call to the Guardian’s base. He then tricked the Guardians of the Globe into gathering by sending a fake emergency signal where he then ambushed and killed them. Nolan slaughtered all of them, including The Immortal, who told Nolan that he never liked him. Nolan replied "the feeling was mutual" to the Immortal's dead body. (Invincible v1 #7) Omni-Man hid his involvement in their death when the authorities found the superhero team dead and began an investigation into their murder. The Demon Detective questioned Nolan and listed out suspects, one being Black Samson. He attended the Guardian’s funerals until it was interrupted by Black Samson’s butler, Sanford. Nolan easily stopped him and headed home with Mark. He contemplated what he will he do for Mark’s birthday with Debbie. (Invincible v1 #8) Mark and Nolan watched a movie after Mark’s friends left. The next day, Nolan practiced on how he would tell Mark about his real origin, but became frustrated in the process. (Invincible v1 #9) He attempted to do so while Mark was in the kitchen, but Mark refused. (Invincible v1 #10)

Personality and attributes
One of his close friends on Earth was Art Rosebaum who had worked with Nolan for years when he operated as a superhero. Art had been responsible for helping design Omni-Man's costumes. (Invincible v1 #1)
The Immortal claimed that he had never liked Omni-Man with this feeling being mutual. (Invincible v1 #7)
Powers and abilities
As a Viltrumite, he was a member of a species completely unlike humans where they had the power of flight, super-speed, super-strength and other such traits. (Invincible v1 #2) Initially, people made the common mistake of thinking that his powers were solar power based. (Invincible v1 #1)
He had a degree of superspeed allowing him to move fast and back in the span of a moment. (Invincible v1 #1)
Nolan was able to hold his breath for two weeks allowing him to operate in the depths of space without any issue. (Invincible v1 #5)
Notes
- Omni-Man was created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker where he made his first appearance in Invincible v1 #1 (January, 2003).
- In 2009, Omni-Man was ranked as IGN's 93rd-greatest comic book villain of all time with it citing his charismatic moustache in its ranking.

- In Invincible, Omni-Man appeared in the setting of the animated television series where he was voiced by actor J.K. Simmons.
Video games
- In Mortal Kombat 1, Omni-Man was introduced as a playable guest fighter via the "Kombat Pack" DLC where he was voiced again by actor J. K. Simmons. In his arcade mode ending, which takes place after the first season of Invincible, Omni-Man is pulled from his native timeline by Titan Shang Tsung to help him fight Fire God Liu Kang. However, Omni-Man betrays and kills Titan Shang Tsung before leading Viltrumite forces in conquering the realms to make up for abandoning Earth, with the understanding that he will have to return to Earth someday to complete his original mission.
