Biography
Rin Tohsaka (Japanese: 遠坂 凛, Hepburn: Tōsaka Rin) was a female human who was the daughter of Tokiomi Tohsaka (遠坂時臣, Tōsaka Tokiomi?) and Aoi Tohsaka (遠坂葵, Tohsaka Aoi?) with her being the older sister of Sakura where they were part of the Tohsaka mage family.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Rin Tohsaka had aqua blue eyes where she had long wavy black ahir that she held in a two-side-up hairstyle that was part of a twin tails tied with black ribbons whilst the majority of her hair hung loose.
Rin had said that she had fallen for Shirou after seeing him failing at his attempts at the high jump yet stubbornly still trying to accomplish it.
Powers and abilities
She was noted for being born with a talent for being able to manipulate all five great animals that was deemed an extremely rare talent for a magi.
Tohsaka made use of a variety of jewels that she could utilise in combat and had to purchase them for the task. Each of the jewels was noted to cost as much as 500,000 yen each. These crystals of the gems were naturally able to store mana within them.
Rin had a special one-of-a-kind jewel that was given to her as part of her inheritance from her father. It was noted for being a century old family heirloom that was the equivalent of ten years worth of magical energy.

- Rin Tohsaka was created by Kinoko Nasu where she featured in the setting of TYPE-MOONs Fate universe.
Alternate Versions
- In Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA, a different version of Rin Tohsaka appeared in the alternate universe setting. This incarnation never participated in the Holy Grail War and seemingly joined the Mage's Association at an even younge age. Once there, she was under the direct tutelage of Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg and was a fellow student of Luviagelita Edelfelt where they pair were given the assignment of recovering the Class Cards. For her task, she was provided the Kaleidostick, Magical Ruby, where the sentient tool could enact its Mystic Code to turn her into a magical girl.
- In Fate/Grand Order, the body of Rin Tohsaka served as a vessel for the Archer-class Servant Ishtar and the Lancer-class Servant Ereshkigal.
