- The Galveston Empire was created by Kozo Morishita, Keisuke Fujikawa and Shigemitsu Taguchi where they featured in the setting of Armored Fleet Dairugger XV.
- It was named after Galveston Island that was a barrier island in Texas with a history of piracy.
- They were adapted into the Drule empire in the Voltron franchise.
