Biography

Helen Collins and her twin sister were both the daughters of Matthew Collins who was a Major in the United States of America's military. He intended to conduct experiments in purging an individual's mind from post-traumatic stress but was denied funding or subjects for his experiments. As a result, he intended to conduct his research secretly at home and did so on his own daughter Helen Collins. His daughter Amanda Collins was given a normal life inside the house but Helen was instead kept locked away in the basement where she was subjected to horrific psychological trauma by her father. As a result, she was denied a normal life as she was instead subject to the brutal experiments of Major Matthew Collins. In 1987, her twin sister Amanda could not bear to see Helen subjected to anymore pain from their fathers research. As a result, she decided to help Helen escape where she freed her from the basement only for them to be caught by Major Collins in their attempt to flee. Major Collins intended to restore the events in the household prior to the attempted escape and ordered Helen to be sent away. However, she returned and slit her father's throat as well as stabbed her sister Amanda Collins whereupon she burnt down the house. After departing the house, Helen Collins decide to take her twin sisters identity and began calling herself Amanda Collins. This allowed her to begin a fresh new life as there were no actual records on her own existence as Helen Collins due to her father keeping her a secret and her identical appearance to her twin sister allowed her to masquerade as her. (Episode: Broken Home)

In time, she joined Division and in fact was one of its founding members alongside Percy as well as Carla Bennett. According to Percy, Amanda was one of the rising stars in PsyOps and was initially placed in the role of preparing new recruits mentally as well as physically in he organization. This often involved trying to gather information that was previously withheld on a recruit's life in order to ensure that they performed well under pressure. Her training often involved psychological means to ensure they were ready by providing therapy, disguises or even rehabilitation for those suffering from addictions. (Episode: Origins)

After Michael recruited Alexandra Udinov, he brought her to Amanda who began to instruct her on how to walk, talk and act in society. (Episode: Pilot)
