Lady of Pain

The Lady of Pain is the enigmatic ruler of the multi-planar city of Sigil. Despite being possessed of god-like power, the Lady slays any that worship her; she also prevents any powers from entering her city. The Lady is served by the dabus, and never makes direct communication with anyone; she is utterly indifferent to pleas and slays offenders.

The Lady of Pain is rumored to be a fallen power herself, the product of a vast conspiracy, or many other outlandish things. She is known to be terribly ancient, and may be among those beings that predate the planes themselves, such as the Twin Serpents.
