Biography

Prince Gofern was a male a noble of the planet Laxidazia, and something of a fool thanks to inbreeding. His sole talent was an ability to paint empty starscapes. Gofern became the lecherous and irrepressible scoundrel known as Pip the Troll after partying with a group of degenerate "trolls," and drinking large amounts of one of their mutagenic beverages. Banished from his home, he wandered the galaxy, and eventually joined Adam Warlock's entourage.

He was slain by Thanos, but Warlock absorbed Pip's soul into his Soul Gem- during the Infinity Gauntlet crisis, he was resurrected into the body of a car crash victim. When Warlock created the Infinity Watch, Pip was granted ownership of the Space Gem, and relished using its powers. He kept it ensconced between his toes.

He was at an alien bar where he came to learn of the quest of Beta Ray Bill who was looking to reclaim his lost power. Pip joined him and Skurge as they looked to travel into Muspelheim in order to claim the Twilight Sword of Surtur. Onboard the Skuttlebutt, they travelled through the Stygian Gate into Muspelheim where they crashed onto its infernal landscape. (Beta Ray Bill v1 #2)
