Original Timeline
Liu Kang once a member of the White Lotus until he left in order to represent the Shaolin temples at the Mortal Kombat Tournament. After the second Tournament, Kung Lao planned to reform the White Lotus but this goal came to a halt when Shao Kahn's Outworld forces began their invasion of Earth.
