- The Island of Dr. Moreau: February 8. Helmar and another, unnamed man, sharing a lifeboat with Edward Prendick, kill one another over water.
Undated Events
- The Island of Dr. Moreau: Edward Prendick (who does not know how long he has drifted since his fellow survivors perished) is picked up by the Ipecacuanha and brought to Noble's Isle. Deaths of Dr. Moreau and Montgomery and subsequent regression of the beast people. Sometime during this, the Ipecacuanha is reported lost.
