Akiro
Akiro was a wizard who looked after the ancient burial grounds near Thulsa Doom's Mountain of Power. After Conan was nearly killed by Doom's soldiers by being crucified on the Tree of Woe, Subotai and Valeria brought him to Akiro who helped keep the spirits of the dead from claiming the ailing barbarian's life. Later, Akiro joined Conan and Subotai in fighting Doom's army, and saved Subotai from one of Doom's soldiers.
Some years later, Akiro was captured by cannibals who thought that by eating him they would absorb his magic power. Conan, on a mission from Queen Taramis, came upon the cannibal village and rescued Akiro who accompanied Conan on his journey. He proved useful in combating the magic-using leader of the Keepers of the Horn. He also deciphered ancient wall writing which foretold the destruction that would come about with the resurrection of Dagoth, and, when Conan battled the evil god, Akiro was the one who told Conan that Dagoth's horn was his life.
After Dagoth was destroyed, Jehnna took Akiro on as her personal wizard in Shadizar.

- The character is only identified as "Wizard" in the end credits of Conan the Barbarian. He would not be given the name Akiro until the sequel, Conan the Destroyer.
