Biography

All For One (Japanese: オール・フォー・ワン, Hepburn: Ōru Fō Wan?) was a male human born in the modern age with it being known that he had a sickly younger brother with the two being present during the rise of Quirks in society. After getting Quirk, he had power to steal the Quirks from others and add them to his own or impart them to others. This was during a time when Quirks were still new in society with people unsure how to progress as a people. In this chaotic period of change, the figure came to operate and rallied many others under his banner where he took the name All For One which was named after his power. He stole Quirks from others and used his overwhelming abilities to spread his influence across the country. In time, manipulated people to serve his purposes and committed evil acts with little resistance leading to him becoming the leader of villains who ruled Japan in the blink of an eye. Around this time, his younger brother who had a strong sense of justice opposed All For One's actions. At one point, All For One decided to transfer a Quirk to his younger brother but unknown to the villain his sibling actually had a Quirk that allowed him to transfer abilities to others. The combination of the two Quirks led to the creation of a new one that became known as One For All (ワン・フォー・オール Wan Fō Ōru?) that was the polar opposite of All For One. The new Quirk was not strong enough at this point to battle its parent and thus the brother passed it on to a successor in the hopes that it would develop in time to stop All For One.

Tomura and Kurogiri later took the League of Villains in a surprise attack against U.A. Academy where they took with them a Nomu who was used in an attempt to kill All-Might. The villains ultimately failed with most being captured though Kurogiri was able warp Shigaraki back to their hideout at the last second. Tomura berated himself for his failures but All For One spoke through a monitor after witnessing their return as well as resultant defeat. He told his student that nothing had gone wrong and that he had simply be too optimistic. During their discussion, Tomura revealed his encounter with a kid who had a power similar to All-Might with this attracting the interest of All For One. He said that it was too late to mourn and that they should gather a new group hand picked for efficiency, saying that they should take all the time they need. All For One tells Tomura that he's a symbol of importance and that next time he will show the world the horror of his existence. A recuperating Tomura watches the U.A. Sports Festival, including the Obstacle Race where he sees Izuku take first place. Later on, before the battle between Izuku and Shoto Todoroki begins, All For One tells Tomura to pay close attention to their match as they might become obstacles for him in the future. Tomura responds by telling his master to not make him laugh. All For One, using his monitor to speak through, orders Kurogiri to allow Stain and Tomura to continue talking, saying that Tomura's meeting with Stain, an experienced infamous villain, will stimulate Tomura's growth. Before he leaves for Hosu, Tomura asks All For One to let him borrow some Nomu because he does not like the 'Hero Killer' Stain and that destroying things he does not like seems alright. All For One decides to give Tomura three Nomu, hoping that Tomura will make the opportunity a learning experience. In the aftermath of the incident, two of the Nomu are killed, one is detained, and Stain is captured. The latter surprises All For One, but he is still happy that things are going as he has foreseen. He exclaims that Tomura's position is to supervise and unify the new villains who have come to join the League of Villains. Doctor Garaki expresses doubt that Tomura can do his job and says that if All For One stepped in things would be proceeding faster. All For One proceeds to ask the Doctor to patch him up faster, adding that he will let Tomura do all the hard work so that he may become his successor as Tomura was born to do so. All For One tells All Might to rejoice in the "transient" peace while he still can.

Thanks to an interaction between Izuku and Tomura, U.A. decided to change at the last minute the location of the upcoming Quirk Training Camp, to keep it a secret from potential villain attacks. Despite this, All For One was able to figure it out by commanding Yuga to reveal the location, the information he promptly gave to Tomura to use.

He was then transported to a special prison for criminals called Tartarus as he death penalty was deemed not enough for his crimes. He was kept under the highest security with life support provided for him but him completely isolated with no chance to use any Quirk.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, All For One was a male human who originally had strong, imposing features, short white hair, and luminous red eyes. After his injury, his facial features were destroyed leaving a mass of scar tissue with only his mouth being present. The damage done to his body necessitated the use of life support equipment to maintain his functions. When out in the field, he wore an expensive business suit and wore an elaborate dark coloured life support mask. To Tomura Shigaraki, he was referred to by his pupil as Master (先生 Sensei?) whilst the criminal underworld called him the Symbol of Evil (悪の象徴 Aku no Shōchō?).

It was shown that he had nothing but contempt for ideals of justice and morality, dismissing them as beliefs of other people that shackle personal freedom.

All For One showed a calm and condescending demeanour where he seemed confident even when his plots were thwarted.

He stated that whilst All-Might hated him that he hated All-Might far more. Despite that, he admitted that in many ways he and All-Might were the same. However, whereas All-Might wanted to become the hero for justice, All For One wanted to be the world's greatest devil.

All For One was shown to be attached to his power and status that he despised All Might for taking them away from him.

He was noted for being the older brother of Yoichi Shigaraki (死し柄がら木き与よ一いち, Shigaraki Yoichi?) who hated his siblings evil ways. Meanwhile, All For One claimed that he cared for his younger brother but often was condescending and mocked him.

Powers and abilities

The basis for his name came from his Quirk which was All For One (オール・フォー・ワン Ōru Fō Wan?) that allowed him to steal the Quirk's of other people and add them to his own. In this way, he could store multiple Quirks giving him various abilities which he could also combine in different ways to increase their overall attack ability. As such, he could achieve various novel attacks and use them to perform devastating effects. After stealing a Quirk, it took him sometime in order to get used to it and understand the full weight of its powers. He could also grant these stolen Quirks to other people thus empowering them with new abilities.

Among the various Quirks he had stolen included:

  • Air Cannon (空くう気きを押おし出だす Kūki o Oshidasu?) : the power to create air shockwaves from the arms that could be strengthened through the combination use of All For One's other Quirks working in conjunction with it.
  • Springlike Limbs (筋きん骨こつ発バ条ネ化か Kinkotsu Baneka?) : the Quirk allows All For One to cook his muscles in order to enhance his physical strength, and can also be used to augment other Quirks.
  • Kinetic Booster (瞬しゅん発ぱつ力りょく Shunpatsuryoku?) : an unnamed Quirk that seemingly increases the amount of kinetic energy All For One created and released in battle.
  • Strength Enhancer (膂りょ力りょく増ぞう強きょう Ryoryoku Zōkyō?) : an unnamed Quirk that seemingly enhanced All For One's physical strength.
  • Warping (転送 Tensō?) : an ability to create portals that appeared as a black liquid that was similar to Kurogiri's Warp Gate though this one had many limitations in that it could only warp things to and from his location or to someone he had a close relationship. However, he could use it on a large scale to produce multiple portals to transport dozens of people in an instant or use it to transport an enemy in front of him to serve as a shield against an attack. It was said to be a newly acquired Quirk which he needed to use in order to learn the full range of its capabilities.
  • Forcible Quirk Activation (個性強制発動 Kosei Kyōsei Hatsudō?) : when used, his fingers transformed into jagged far reaching spikes that moved to pierce a target where they caused an individuals Quirk's to activate against their will whether they were conscious or not. These appendages could also dig into the flesh of opponents and send them flying in different directions allowing him to use this Quirk for offensive purposes.
  • Life Force (摂せっ生せい Sessei?) : a Quirk that increase the bearer's lifespan and made them age at a slower rate where they appeared younger than their actual age.
  • Super Regeneration (超ちょう再さい生せい Chōsaisei?) :
  • Warping (転てん送そう Tensō?) :

This combination of Quirks made All For One incredibly powerful to the point that he was able to match the strength of All-Might and was able to stop that hero with his bare hands. One of his abilities was merging multiple Quirks in a single moment thus greatly increasing his power.

He was the founder of the League of Villains (敵ヴィラン連れん合ごう Viran Rengō?) where he was their leader and the hidden mastermind as well as patron of them.
