An Ashrak is a title that features in Stargate SG-1.

History

The Ashrak were Goa'uld assassins of the highest rank who carried out the orders of the System Lords. (Episode: In the Line of Duty) Legends of the Ashrak were seen among the Jaffa with one particular story concerning an assassin that infiltrated the mines of Kawawn that was controlled by Apophis. After a number of killings, Apophis ordered that the mines be sealed off in order to trap and kill the assassin. After several days, the mine was reopened and a single Ashrak was discovered who had been responsible for the many deaths. (Episode: Allegiance) Cronus of the System Lords was responsible for assigning one of these assassins with the task of tracking down and killing Jolinar of the Tok'ra. (Episode: Fair Game)

Overview

They were regarded as highly trained Goa'uld assassin of great strength and power. (Episode: Allegiance) The name Ashrak was said to mean 'Hunter' in the language of the Goa'uld. (Episode: In the Line of Duty)

A piece of equipment used by the Ashrak was the Hara'kesh which was a ring-shaped device worn on the middle ring finger. It was able to scan other beings or conduct a painful interrogation where it was capable killing a Symbiont. (Episode: In the Line of Duty) Some were also known to make use of cloaking technology allowing them to be invisible and conduct assassinations with them using a special blade for killing their targets. (Episode: Allegiance)
