History
The System Lords was a title given to several powerful Goa'uld warlords that operated in the Milky Way galaxy. (Episode: Fair Game)

Later on, the Goa'uld Queen Hathor was killed by the Tau'ri thus bringing Earth to the attention of the System Lords. To prevent the planet's destruction, the Asgard intervened and looked to engage in diplomatic negotiations with the System Lords to include Earth in the Protected Planets Treaty. (Episode: Fair Game)
The deaths of Cronus and Apophis created a power vacuum among the remaining System Lords who had been trying to exploit the situation. Over the past several months they have suffered heavy losses and expended an enormous amount of resources fighting amongst themselves. (Episode: Summit)
After suffering from a number of attacks, the council of System Lords met at a summit in order to discuss the threat of their mysterious attacker. They received a petition from Osiris to come before the council which normally would not have been considered but the in the wake of the attacks the System Lords agreed. The attacks had led to a number of heavy casualties seen among the various Goa'uld. These included Baal losing his flagship along with his flagship whilst Lord Yu's fleet had suffered heavy losses and both Kali along with Bastet suffered similar setbacks. Such attacks continued in frequency whilst their adversary remained hidden which sowed discord among the System Lords. At the meeting, Osiris emerged in order to reveal that her master was Anubis who had been responsible for the attacks and desired the loyalty of the other System Lords. (Episode: Summit)
Yu came to lose favor when the other System Lords had accepted Anubis back into their ranks. However, he came to use his power to become an effective leader. (Episode: New Order, Part 1)
After Anubis's defeat, an unstable situation erupted among the System Lords where to avoid open war they came to an agreement to divide his territory and armies evenly. Despite that, Baal came to break the agreement and found the world where the Kull Warriors were created where he took control of it. From there, he came to dispatch supersoldiers that were used against the Jaffa armies of the System Lords. (Episode: New Order, Part 1)
Overview
In appearance, a System Lord was the title given to powerful Goa'uld warlords. (Episode: Fair Game)
The High Council of System Lords was a rather flimsy coalition of the most powerful Goa'uld in the galaxy. They tended to only cooperate with one another when it suited them. Their numbers varied from time to time with new ones rising up an older ones being killed. (Episode: New Order, Part 1)
Each System Lord was given a personal assistant in the form of a human that was known as a lo'taurs. These were the personal attendants of the Goa'uld in question and who aided them in any way their master saw fit. Such humans were known to revere the Goa'uld and even desired to be implanted as a host by one of them. (Episode: Summit)
A gathering of the System Lords was held in neutral territory at a heavily armed space station in the Hasara system. Security was tight with no weapons being permitted on-board and access only allowed by cargo ship only. (Episode: Summit)
