Banner, Tom

Tom Banner was the nephew of Uncle Rege, a young backwoods teenager who was at home with his uncle and his Cousin Satchel and girlfriend Judy Rose Larson when Rege passed away from natural causes but awoke as a zombie, attacking Satchel. Tom and Judy Rose hid in the cellar and were soon joined by the Coopers, Harry, Helen and Sarah, later emerging after Ben and Barbara had arrived and dispose of the undead Rege and a neighbor.

Unlike Harry, Tom actively assisted Ben and Barbara in boarding up the house. When the group attempted to make it to the locked gas pump out back, Tom did not discover that Judy Rose had found the wrong keys until they were already at the pump. With zombies closing in, Tom, in a panic, tried to shoot the lock off the pump with his shotgun, causing an explosion that destroyed Ben's truck and killed both him and Judy Rose. Later, their burnt bodies were eaten by the zombies.
