Biography
Baron Blitzkrieg
The Prussian nobleman real name was not widely known but he came to be a favourite of Adolf Hitler during the early days of the Third Reich. In this time, the Baron's castle was used as a retreat during the rise of Nazi Germany. During these years, Hitler began his final solution that was the purging of Jews with the Prussian noble being rewarded by the Fuhrer by being made commandant of a death camp. The Baron profited from this time where he had the fortunes of the detainees being taken from them which he intended to use after the war. (World's Finest v1 #246)
However, one day, a young Jewish man broke from a group and grabbed a bottle which he threw at the Baron. The Jewish man was killed but the bottle managed to land on the Prussian's face and shattered leaving him disfigured as a result. Hitler upon learning of this had the finest surgeons in the Reich to save his noble friend where they managed to save his eyesight but failed to repair his face. Afterwards, the Fuhrer had the Baron take part in a series of experiments to give him superhuman abilities for use by Nazi Germany during World War II. (World's Finest v1 #246)
In April 1942, he travelled to London where he was sent to eliminate General Adrian Hanking who was a liaison between British and American commands. (World's Finest v1 #246)
The deceased remains of Baron Blitzkrieg were later entombed below the Hall of Justice. During the Blackest Night, a black Power Ring came to reanimate him as a member of the Black Lantern Corps. (Blackest Night v1 #4)

The Baron was said to had been friends with Adolf Hitler both of convenience and of ideology. In those years, he was made a high ranking commandant which he considered the perfect resolution of the Prussian dream. This was by having complete and total domination over men with this being a power over life. (World's Finest v1 #246)
Powers and abilities
Originally, the Baron was an ordinary human being until he was involved in a project that saw him being subjected to a series of experimental and agonising injections. (World's Finest v1 #246) A brilliant and influential Nazi biogeneticist named Klaus Schimmel was the genius that was responsible for creating Baron Blitzkrieg. (Damage v1 #12) This consisted of drugs designed to siphon the mind's mental energy into the body's cells giving the human user full control of the body's resources. This made him super-strong in an instant where he accomplished years of physical therapy in a matter of seconds. Transformed, he became a being capable of superhuman efforts for limited periods of time where he being a creature of power as well as lightning speed. (World's Finest v1 #246)

Alternate Versions
- In Flashpoint: Frankenstein and the Creatures of the Unknown v1 #1 (2011), an alternate version Baron Blitzkrieg appeared in the Flashpoint timeline where he was shown to had been killed by Frankenstein who drove a sword through his chest.

- In Arrow, Baron Reiter appeared in the live-action television series fourth season's flashbacks in the Arrowverse where he was portrayed by actor Jimmy Akingbola.
- In Stargirl, Baron Blitzkrieg was referenced in the setting of the live-action television series. It was said that he had been an associate of the Injustice Society and had been responsible for the murder of the Red Bee after his secret identity was exposed. He was said to had died in World War II though Pat Dugan kept a case file on him.
Web Series
- In Freedom Fighters: The Ray, Blitzkrieg was the code name used by the Earth-X version of Barry Allen in the animated television series set in the Arrowverse who was voiced by actor Scott Whyte.
