Beetle is the name used by several characters in the Marvel Universe.

Beetle (Abner Jenkins)

Abner Jenkins

He began to buy, trade and steal parts that he used to create a suit and equipment for himself to be used as a costumed villain. He then created his Beetle costume and embarked on a crime spree where his initial forays led to an encounter with the Human Torch Johnny Storm and the Thing. (Strange Tales v1 #123)

Beetle (Leila Davis)

Leila Davis was a female human who became the wife of Anthony Davis who operated as the masked criminal called the Ringer. She was noted to had helped him design the Ringer weapons. When she learned that her husband was one of the victims at the Bar With No Name massacre, she blamed the Beetle for her husband's death, and decided to try to kill him to get revenge. She began to date Fred Myers, aka Boomerang, one of the members of the Beetle's former team, the Sinister Syndicate. (Deadly Foes of Spider-Man v1 #1)

Beetle (Janice Lincoln)

Janice Lincoln was a human female born the daughter of the super-powered mobster Tombstone, while Janice's mother was a Dominican woman who was involved with Tombstone during his early days in organized crime. Janice grew up a semi-normal life, with Tombstone in and out of her life, usually showing up to help out with bills and schooling. However, Janice sought the thrill of her father's lifestyle. It was a few years later that Baron Zemo and the Fixer provided Janice with a suit of Beetle armor and a nano-virus as part of their plan to destroy the new Captain America Bucky Barnes (Superior Foes of Spider-Man v1 #7)

Notes

• The concept of the Beetle was created by Stan Lee and Carl Burgos where it made its first appearance in Strange Tales v1 #123 (August, 1964).

Alternate Versions

• In Ultimate Spider-Man v1 #124 (2008), an alternate version of the Beetle appeared in the Ultimate Marvel reality set on Earth-1610 in the Multiverse. This version was an unnamed Latverian who came to operate as a mercenary and wore an advanced suit of armor stylised on a beetle.
