History

The Syndicate in Amazing Spider-Man v1 #280.

The Sinister Syndicate were a team of superpowered criminals that operated in New York City. They were first assembled by the Beetle Abner Jenkins where their goal was to operate as mercenaries who worked for the highest bidder. Its members included Hydro-Man, Rhino, Boomerang and Speed Demon. In an effort to prove their reputation, they looked to eliminate Silver Sable who was famous among law enforcement circles. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #280)

Janice Lincoln formed a new incarnation of the Sinister Syndicate that she tailored to support female supervillains in joint ventures. Among the members of this version of the Sinister Syndicate included Lady Octopus, White Rabbit, Scorpia, Trapstr and the new Electro. Their first mission together was targeting the newly relaunched F.E.A.S.T. centre in order to get revenge on Boomerang. (Amazing Spider-Man v5 #26)

Later on, the Syndicate looked to add Ana Kravinoff into their ranks where they came to be involved in Kindred's scheme to take down Spider-Man. (Sinister War v1 #2)
